Knowledge of access issues, assessment capabilities, the ability to design training programs and specific skills in working with the elderly highly regarded.
The ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment is essential. Organization and time management skills need to be demonstrated.

An exciting opportunity exists for a fulltime Occupational Therapist to join our Client Services team.
If you are an experienced OT with an interest in working with people with a sensory disability and/or neurological impairment, we want to hear from you!
You will be a specialist resource working within the Vision Services team, where you will be responsible for assessment and implementation of programs to consumers, in hospitals, home and community settings, including the area of vision loss due to head trauma.
You will also support people referred to the Low Vision Service in meeting their functional needs.
The position involves considerable professional autonomy and requires a high level of initiative. You will need to demonstrate a high level of communication and interpersonal skills, empathy, contribute as a team member and be able to assess, evaluate, problem solve and lead by example.

Occupational Therapist
(Permanent part time position - approximately 22 hours per week)
Guide Dogs Victoria is one of the best known and respected charities providing a range of free vision and mobility services to people who are blind or vision impaired. An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably qualified OT to be part of an interdisciplinary team. The suitable candidate will be required to provide OT services in a variety of settings to people of all ages with varying degrees and ranges of vision impairment. Training specific to working with people with vision impairment is available for the successful applicant.
The successful candidate will have:
· Tertiary qualifications in the field of Occupational Therapy
· Preferable 1 year of experience working as an Occupational Therapist but new graduates are also encouraged to apply
· Preferable but not essential, experience working with people with a vision impairment
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work well within a team, as well as independently, assuming responsibility for nominated tasks
· Ability to work under direction while maintaining initiative
· Excellent time management skills, organisational skills, and a good eye for detail
· Ability to be flexible, adapt to varying workloads, and to effectively manage multiple tasks
· Have a satisfactory “Police record” and “Working with Children’s record”

The organisation needs to expand its services to meet growing demand and is seeking two experienced GDMI’s to be based at our National breeding and training facility located in the heart of Melbourne and in Perth, Western Australia.
We are looking for IGDF Qualified Instructors who can fit into our team. We work in a very flexible and client focused way and you will have the opportunity to work with clients on very individually tailored programs.
